Douglas

Douglas—not to be confused with Douglas Parish, which is the larger geographical area—is a suburban community in York County, New Brunswick. Located on the east bank of the Saint John River, Douglas developed as a farming community but has witnessed two residential subdivisions developed in recent decades, largely for residents commuting to Fredericton. As a result, most residents are commuters, particularly families, who work in the city. Population data for this region is limited, but Douglas was home to over 2,300 people in 2001.
